Practise doing this a couple of times a day. You aren't changing anything, you're just bringing your awareness to your thoughts.

Start paying attention to how you are feeling. What are the physical sensations you feel in your body? You can practise doing regular body scans, noticing how you feel.
Think of a recent time that you felt triggered and be there now. Use the language of emotions to explore how you feel in your body.
Use the alien exercise to practise holding space for yourself to allow the emotion to move through you.
